Yoto
Yoto is a London-based company specializing in interactive audio devices that provide screen-free entertainment and education for children.

The Challenge
We were originally introduced to Yoto’s people team, through their Head of Product, who we had done Embedded work for in the past. Yoto reached out as they were struggling to find high-quality candidates for their tech roles. Add in the fact the People & Talent Manager was single-handedly scaling a company that was doubling in size, an internal proactive sourcing approach was almost impossible.


the solution
After receiving confirmation and a brief from the client, we proactively searched for potential candidates based on skillset & industry sector experience. We proactively took the open roles to market and headhunted, selling Yoto to candidates was a jot given the mission of the company, it was very well received. We used various methods and platforms to source for 2 initial positions, Senior Embedded Software Engineer & Senior Product Manager. We managed the entire process from brief to offer stage.
The results
An initial 2 hires, with the first being filled 9 days after the role brief (quick even for our high standards). Following our success we were invited back a year later to fill 7 new positions in a newly formed “cluster”. The further 7 hires were across Embedded Engineering, Front End, Data & Cyber Security. We have a great relationship with Yoto & love working with them.

Troi Search work on either a success-based or retained approach. Our success based hiring offers a flexible, low risk approach for your junior and mid level requirements. We work for free until successfully placing the right candidate. For senior and niche requirements our retained & project based approach dedicates the time and resource required for success at this level.
You only pay when you need us. You still, however, get the benefit of working with experienced recruiters in a partnership style, but without the risk of a fixed-cost model where you could be concerned about your ROI. If it's a contingent approach, you have the ability to continue searching for candidates through your own channels whilst working with us to de-risk your hiring.
Provided we've had a detailed hiring manager brief and client overview, we like to send a small selection of qualified CVs within the first few days. Given our previous internal recruitment experience, we know the hurdles you're likely to face as a client so we like to keep hiring as streamlined as possible. Since our inception in January 2023, our average time-to- offer is 24 days.
