The Challenge
The Gym Group were about to embark on 2 large scale digital transformation projects. They had previously relied heavily on outsourcing software development to agencies and contractors, but for these 2 projects they wanted to bring the build in-house. Their internal recruitment team were already very strong, but focused primarily on Ops recruitment inside the Gyms, they didn’t quite have the technical knowledge or access to candidate pools that we did.


the solution
We agreed the best approach was for a project based hiring solution. The agreed solution comprised of a set number of hires and skillsets within an agreed timeframe. Because of the commitment from the client, we were able to negotiate a reduced “price per hire” which suited all parties and we were able to commit a dedicated resource from Troi Search to exclusively support the hiring project.
The results
Within the first 7 weeks of the project, we’d already completed 75% of the hires, with 0 candidate dropouts during interview stages. The speed of delivery coupled with the speed of interview scheduling and feedback from the client, was a match made in heaven. After 3 months, all roles within the initial scope were filled. The client enjoyed working with us so much, they extended the agreement to a further 3 hires, in a different area of the business.

We work for free until successfully placing the right candidate. For senior and niche requirements our retained & project based approach dedicates the time and resource required for success at this level.
You only pay when you need us. You still, however, get the benefit of working with experienced recruiters in a partnership style, but without the risk of a fixed-cost model where you could be concerned about your ROI. If it's a contingent approach, you have the ability to continue searching for candidates through your own channels whilst working with us to de-risk your hiring.
Provided we've had a detailed hiring manager brief and client overview, we like to send a small selection of qualified CVs within the first few days. Given our previous internal recruitment experience, we know the hurdles you're likely to face as a client so we like to keep hiring as streamlined as possible. Since our inception in January 2023, our average time-to- offer is 24 days.
